Location The Festival is being held at the University of York - two hours by train from London and easily reached from anywhere in the UK or overseas. The importance of being on-campus We've chosen to hold the Festival at York, because we can hold all our workshops, all our talks, all our meals and all our other events on-campus. That means that you'll be sharing food, drink & accommodation with the editors, agents and authors present. These informal contacts will be every bit as useful as the more formal elements of the Festival - and we're the only writers' conference in the UK to offer anything quite like this. The campus is also beautifully arranged with plenty of space for leisurely strolls or earnest conversation. How to get there York is two hours from London by train, and easily reached off the M1 if coming by car. If you're travelling with family, then historic York is one of the most beautiful and child-friendly cities in England. There's also fabulous countryside and seaside resorts within easy reach. A google map of the location is available here. Car parking is available on site. Either book a car parking hangar in advance or use the pay-and-display car park when you arrive (£5 per 24 hours). Accommodation You will have your own private room, with an ensuite bathroom, a comfortable bed, spotless linen - and a full team of staff to ensure that you are completely comfortable and have everything you could possibly need. Although day tickets are available to the event, we do urge people to stay the Friday and (especially) the Saturday nights, as many of the most important connections will take place 'out of hours'. Enquiries We're here to help. If you have any enquiries regarding disabled access, special dietary needs, arriving from overseas - or anything else - please just contact us.
